The beginning of Made For War MMA

Saturday October 13 2012

& Events Center

What do MMA fans look for in a promotion? What brings excitement to the crowd at an event? How about an amazing card filled with top notch entertainment and rewarding the fighters for their hard work and dedication! This is what you will see at the Made for War (MFW) event on October 13, as they unleash a highly anticipated card. You will see big Colorado names like Josh "Superman” Cavan, LT "Smash” Nelson, Jason "The Dragon” Lee, Jeremy Kimball, Brian Maronek, Canaan Grigsby, and even a women's bout between Diana "Dynamite” Rael vs. Darla "Train Wreck” Harris. What a privilege it is to see all of these amazing names under one card. But it doesn't stop there. You can also see UFC veteran Joe "Diesel” Riggs (37-14) in the cage as he takes on Josh Cavan. What is even more interesting is the fact that there will be 4 title fights. However, they will not be fighting for a belt like most championship fights. Instead, an awesome looking Battle Axe will be on the line, which gives the fighters more motivation to win an outstanding prize like this. What more can you ask for from a promotions first event? Well, the main event was originally supposed to showcase an incredible mixed martial artist, Cameron "Money Man” Dollar. This was until The World Series of Fighting made him an offer that he could not refuse. Even with a couple of changes to the card, fans will still see an outstanding night of fights.

Made for War CEO, Paul Abrams began his vision only 5 months ago. It all started after seeing Cameron Dollar and Josh Cavan in the cage. Cameron Dollar told Abrams that he did not get taken care of by the promoter after one of his fights. Therefore, Abrams started thinking about ways to help fighters like Dollar and Cavan take off in their MMA career. Josh Cavan mentioned how he wanted to fight high quality opponents, in order to prove his ability in the cage. Paul says that it is not about making money for him, it is about giving fighters a stepping stone to launch their careers and take them to the next level. His main focus is about treating people right and giving the fighters what they deserve, to be treated like the stars and athletes they are. Abrams began looking for the biggest and best names around Colorado. Former UFC fighter Thomas Denny was brought in to be the match maker of this event and he was able to bring some experience and knowledge to the table. Paul Abrams wife, Jacklyn (AKA Jack the ripped) also showed here support through this process by getting the ring girls and helping with advertisement. It became a family affair with everybody pitching in a helping hand to make this possible.

Following the event this weekend, MFW has already made a commitment to having 3-4 events per year, starting next year. With the next show already set for March, then in June and August, fans can rest assure that there will be many more chances to see the dedication and professionalism of this promotion. MFW has demonstrated a unique atmosphere for all ages and you can see how they have gone above and beyond for not only the fans, but the fighters as well. MMA Meltdown is proud to be a part of Made for War and you can see us covering the event, as well as with a booth designed specifically for the fans. Made for War and Paul Abrams would like to thank his wife, Jack the, Cure, VIP Real Estate, Team Wildman, Grudge Training Center, No Mercy, and Fight 2 Win for their help putting everything together.

All tables are sold out, but there are still some General Admission tickets left, so get them now at King Soopers, Ticket West, or MFWMMA
